OpenAI has completed a historic funding round of $40 billion led by SoftBank Group, which will invest $7.5 billion directly, alongside an investor syndicate contributing $2.5 billion. Other investors include Microsoft, Coatue, and Thrive Capital.

A second funding phase is planned to raise $30 billion, with $22.5 billion coming from SoftBank by the end of 2025. OpenAI aims to leverage this capital to enhance its AI capabilities and infrastructure.
