On March 24, 2025, the Bhutan government moved 63 million USD in Bitcoin to three wallets, with one containing 600 BTC valued at about 53 million USD.
Bhutan’s total crypto holdings are valued at 890 million USD, primarily in Bitcoin, constituting 30.7% of its GDP, which was 2.9 billion USD in 2023.
The Bhutan government is also diversifying its investments, holding smaller amounts in other cryptocurrencies like Ether, showcasing a broader acceptance of digital assets.
