On January 13, BlackRock launched its Bitcoin ETF on Cboe Canada, allowing Canadian investors access to its US spot Bitcoin fund, the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). This ETF aims to invest nearly all its assets in IBIT, trading under the ticker IBIT and IBIT.U for USD-denominated shares.
Since its launch in January 2024, the US IBIT ETF accumulated over 37 billion USD in net inflows, making it the top BTC fund worldwide. Analysts at Steno Research forecast Bitcoin ETFs could draw in approximately 48 billion USD in 2025, underscoring Bitcoin’s growing role in investment portfolios amid rising inflation and geopolitical tensions.
