BPCE, a MAJOR French bank, is set to introduce cryptocurrency investment services via its subsidiary Hexarq in 2025. This move comes as part of a strategy to remain competitive amidst rapidly changing financial markets.
Hexarq recently obtained a PSAN license, allowing it to legally operate in the digital asset market. This license positions Hexarq as the second bank in France authorized to offer digital asset transactions such as buying and selling.
France has taken the lead in the EU by regulating cryptocurrency services effectively. The AMF has begun accepting applications for MiCA licenses, making it a pioneer in establishing defined rules for digital assets in the region.
