Ethereum issuance is 138 times lower after The Merge
According to Ultrasound.money, since The Merge’s success on September 15, the amount of newly created ETH is 3,112 ETH, which is nearly 138 times less than the 428,327 ETH that should have been issued as mining rewards.
Ethereum proponents argue that when combined with the EIP-1559 fee-burning mechanism, the network can even reach a deflationary state where the amount of ETH burned per day is lower than the amount produced.
