Testing for Ethereum’s Pectra upgrade will begin on February 26 on the Holesky testnet. Following this, testing will continue on the Sepolia testnet from March 5, and a final launch timeline will be determined after evaluating test outcomes.

The Pectra upgrade combines features from the Prague and Electra upgrades. Notable enhancements include the ability to pay gas fees in different currencies through EIP-7702 and increasing staking capacity for validators to 2048 ETH under EIP-7251.

As Ethereum faces fierce competition from Solana and shifts in leadership, the Pectra upgrade is crucial for stabilizing Ethereum’s position and improving user experience within its ecosystem.
