In 2024, crypto funds globally registered a historic net inflow of 44.2 billion USD, an achievement that considerably eclipsed their previous record. This surge was fueled by the introduction of Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs in the U.S., which together garnered an inflow of 44.4 million USD. Meanwhile, Switzerland experienced substantial crypto inflows of 630 million USD.
Contrasting trends were noted in different regions: while Switzerland enjoyed inflows of 630 million USD, Canada and Sweden experienced significant outflows of 707 million USD and 682 million USD, respectively. These outflows were largely attributed to investors gravitating towards U.S.-based products and others opting to lock in profits.
Among specific digital assets, Bitcoin funds marked dominance by achieving 38 billion USD in net inflows, constituting 29% of total Bitcoin asset management in these funds. Ethereum funds had a resurgence with inflows reaching 4.8 billion USD by late 2024. XRP-related products attracted 438 million USD, with Solana securing 69 million USD.
