India finalized the rollout of the retail CBDC pilot

The deployment of the retail digital rupee pilot is nearly complete, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the nation’s central bank.

The digital rupee is intended to supplement current payment systems rather than take their place of them, according to the Economic Times of India report. The study also mentioned that the retail CBDC had been created to be compatible with current payment methods.
