Bitkey introduces inheritance feature: Bitkey has developed an inheritance feature to protect and transmit Bitcoin assets across generations. This feature allows transferring funds to a beneficiary when the owner passes away. Bitkey’s customers will soon experience this feature in January 2025.
Process of setting up inheritance plan: Users need to designate beneficiaries in the Bitkey app. Then, beneficiaries can initiate inheritance requests, but there is a 6-month waiting period for security. During this time, owners can cancel requests and continue to control their assets.
Full safety and asset control: Bitkey’s inheritance feature simplifies managing Bitcoin assets without having to remember long seed phrases. Beneficiaries don’t access the patron’s wallet, ensuring security and control for the owner.
Plan to expand inheritance feature: In the future, Bitkey plans to expand the inheritance function to support multiple beneficiaries and transfers to other wallets. This will provide users with more flexible options in managing and protecting their assets.
