The Russian Ministry of Energy plans to mandate a registry for all crypto mining equipment, which will eliminate unregistered mining operations. This initiative is intended to better monitor domestic mining activities.

Some regions, such as occupied Ukrainian territories, will enforce mining bans from December 2024 until March 2031 due to energy shortages. Additionally, a new tax structure, effective from 2024, will impose different rates depending on miners’ income.

The Federal Taxation Service now allows miners to report their digital earnings online, enhancing compliance. Tax rates are set at 13% for incomes up to 2.4 million rubles and 15% for higher amounts, with strict reporting deadlines.
