Six individuals have been charged regarding the kidnapping of four people in October 2024, where they were coerced into transferring cryptocurrency assets valued at 15 million USD. The victims were held captive under the threat of firearms.

The FBI has linked suspects to the crime using DNA and fingerprints. Despite some arrests, about 9 million USD of the stolen cryptocurrency is still unaccounted for, prompting ongoing international investigations.
