At the end of 2024, the US controls over 40% of Bitcoin’s global hashrate, as noted by TheMinerMag. This dominance is attributed to US-based mining pools Foundry USA and MARA Pool, which collectively account for more than 38.5% of the total mining activities.
Foundry USA, in particular, grew its hashrate from 157 EH/s at the beginning of 2024 to approximately 280 EH/s by December of the same year. This marked rise solidifies its position as the largest mining group, representing about 36.5% of the entire hash capacity of the Bitcoin network.
Although Chinese pools still hold a significant portion of the global hashrate, estimating this share accurately is complicated due to the use of VPNs by these miners to bypass restrictions. This practice obscures the true geographical distribution of the mining power, adding complexity to calculations.
