Information about IOTA (IOTA)
The MIOTA project was launched in October 2017 and was developed by the IOTA Foundation, a non-profit organization comprised of leading mathematicians and programmers in more than 25 countries. MIOTA is an open-source distributed ledger created to store and execute transactions between devices in the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem.
MIOTA uses the Tangle platform, a system of nodes used to verify transactions, and is claimed by the development team to be faster and more efficient than current blockchain platforms. This project became a platform for the Internet of Things, which can solve the problems that most blockchain projects face today, such as low scalability, slow transaction processing speed, high transaction fees, and low security.
The MIOTA token (IOTA) is a utility token belonging to the MIOTA network, operating on the Binance Smart Chain platform according to BEP20 standards and paying for services inside the network.
News
On May 5, 2025, IOTA will officially transition to the Rebased Protocol, marking the most significant upgrade in its history. This new protocol allows for the introduction of staking rewards, enabling token holders to earn an annual percentage yield ranging between 10% and 15%.
The Rebased Protocol incorporates the Mysticeti consensus, enhancing transaction speed and scalability to over 50,000 transactions per second. It also enables the integration of smart contracts using the Move programming language to support sophisticated decentralized applications.
The transition has garnered substantial community backing, with a governance vote indicating strong agreement on the upgrade. This indicates a united effort towards improving IOTA’s infrastructure and engaging institutional participation in its ecosystem.
IOTA has undergone a notable downturn after a promising rally, prompting investors to question the sustainability of its market performance. The ongoing market uncertainty makes it crucial for investors to stay alert and analyze trends thoroughly before making any financial decisions.
IOTA announced the launch of its EVM mainnet, a Layer 2 solution that is fully compatible with the EVM on the IOTA network.
The IOTA EVM introduces features such as smart contracts, cross-chain capabilities, parallel processing, and enhanced security for miner extractable value (MEV)
Internet of Things blockchain ecosystem IOTA announced the launch of its “IOTA 2.0” testnet.
IOTA announced that “IOTA 2” will enable the migration from Proof of Work (PoW) to a decentralized Proof of Stake (PoS), which will result in increased network scalability and efficiency.
