Bitcoin tops $40,000 for first time in 19 months

Bitcoin has reached the $40,000 level for the first time since late April 2022. It also marks a new year-to-date high for Bitcoin, up over 140% since Jan. 1.

With the April 2024 halving event approaching and the fact that miners tended to hoard Bitcoin before each halving, many investors believe Bitcoin will continue to rise to new highs in the coming months.
